Apricots
The dried apricots are dried fruit. Normally we refer to dried apricots but peaches can also be dehydrated, so we have to specify what we mean fruit.
Anyway share almost all the features, so we will continue referring to the apricots in a generic way.
Uses of apricots
They are present in the development of many recipes, both sweet and savory. They are an ingredient in many dishes and many appear as accompaniment. For example we have rye bread with raisins and dried apricots and orange turkey and honey.
The apricots are dehydrated using the traditional system of sun drying or by artificial processes such as the oven or food dehydrator. In this way retains the flavor of the fruit, but much sweeter (since sugar is concentrated) and with a different texture, hard as a jelly.
Nutritional properties
They have a high nutritional value, are rich in protein, iron, vitamin A and potassium, calcium, phosphorus, iron, magnesium and fiber. So are beneficial for blood circulation, regulate blood pressure, relieve arthritis and rheumatic diseases are a good ally against constipation and anemia.
You must save the apricots in sealed containers and in a cool dry place so they will not dry further and create mold. When you buy must look at its color is uniform and not overly wrinkled.
