Squid ink


The squid ink is a dark color concentrate that shed some cephalopods when they want to escape. It is a composite pigment melanin mucous substances which popularly called ink.
In Mediterranean countries use this ink to make some dishes.
The squid ink release this siphons (side vents) when they are in danger, so the black trail they leave behind when they fled, cluelessness and disorient an attacker. But erroneously thought that the purpose of the ink was blind the contrary, not the black substance by confusing attackers misleads chemical sensing organs.
The black color is due to the presence of melanin and other substances containing squid ink are dopamine trosinasa and levodopa. Squid ink is black ink although not all are this color cephalopods, such as cuttlefish pigment emits a different color, hence the adjective "sepia".
